چکیده
Fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda is an invasive and notorious pest of maize in many countries including Nepal. Several approaches integrated management have been adopted for its control, chemical being the most popular choice farmers’ fields. Efficacy such pesticides fall armyworm interpreted as per location, season, time crops. In some cases, insect pests are always increasing pesticide resistance. Hence to minimize confusion insecticide efficiency various levels understanding level, field research was conducted October 2021 April, 2022. Seven different treatments (azadirachtin, chlorantraniliprole, emamectin benzoate, spinosad, spinetoram, imidacloprid control) were tested a four replicated RCBD design. Two sprays made twenty-days after seeding fifteen-days first spray openfield condition. Minimum damage across stages plant recorded inspinosad sprayed plots followed by chlorantraniliprole respectively. Maize yield also highest spinosad spinetoram plots. Highest score treated This study further proved popularly applied insecticides management.

Mortality Dynamics of Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) Immatures in Maize
We characterized the dynamics of mortality factors affecting immature developmental stages of the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). Multiple decrement life tables for egg and early larval stages of S. frugiperda in maize (Zea mays L.) fields were developed with and without augmentative releases of Telenomus remus Nixon (Hymenoptera: Platygastridae) from...
متن کاملUsing Sex Pheromone Traps in the Decision-Making Process for Pesticide Application against Fall Armyworm (<i>Spodoptera frugiperda</i> [Smith] [Lepidoptera: Noctuidae]) Larvae in Maize
The fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), is a major pest of maize and frequently demands control measures. The timing of insecticide application is a key factor in determining its efficiency, so an experiment was designed to investigate this. Application of insecticide was based on three criteria: (i) the number of trap-caught moths in a Delta-type trap with a ...

Growth and development of fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith), were compared in two laboratory trials between individuals oered transgenic maize seedlings, conventional maize seedlings, or artificial diet. Transgenic maize seedlings in the first and second trials expressed Cry9C (Event CBH 351) and Cry1A(b) (Event MON 810) Bacillus thuringiensis (Berliner) (Bt) endotoxin genes, r...

Spodoptera frugiperda is a polyphagous insect that causes economic losses to several crops in Brazil and is the major obstacle to corn production. Researches focusing on alternative control, e.g. botanical products are expanding to offer a wide variety of molecules that interfere with different biological parameters of insect pests. Thus, this study tested the hypothesis that clove essential oi...
